This compelling footage compilation is an excerpt from my 2013 dvd “UNDERCOVER AUTOPSY”. Spending a summer in the suburban oasis of Westerville, Ohio, in 2007, I tried to re-capture what I originally fell in love with about bike riding – aimlessly cruising the streets exploring on a bmx. Followed by an experimental phase of filming myself ride at Ohio State University from 2008 – 2011, the next section, set to John Cale’s “Hanky Panky Nohow”, is an attempt to relay the struggles and elation of being a professional bmx’er living within a metropolis yet still existing within society. But if these bittersweet and sentimental perspectives on bike riding are far removed from the hustle and bustle of bike riding in New York, stay tuned for a quick visit back to the birth of it all – Punk Rock and BMX. Sometimes it’s not pretty and sometimes it hurts, but there’s no better feeling then beating yourself up on your bike until you pass out in the dirt.
